Default Tranny downshift on freeway

I have a 2003 Ram 2500 4x4 with an automatic transmission. Driving at about 50+ MPH and letting off the gas (coasting) thetruck will sometimesdownshift hard. It feels like a clunk then about 5-10 seconds later theengine light will come on.At 50 MPH the truck usually runs at about 1600 RPM. After this clunk the RPMsjump up about 1000 to 2600 RPM. When I come to a stop it feels like it is starting out of 2nd gear. When I turn the truck off and on again these issues go away. Because of thisI think it must be a computerissue.I have the superchip codereader and the codes are p0700 &p0875.The truck only has23,000 miles on it however is not under warranty because I have imported it from the US to Canada and dodge wonthonor the warranty when this is done. I have had it intoDodge twice. Both times theyjust read the codes, but said both thesecodes are generic codes and don't tellthem what the problem is. Theycan only starttrouble shooting for $98/hr. I would do this but the mechanics I talked to didn't evenhave any suggests as to where to start looking??I took it to a reputable tranny shop that looked inside the tranny and said everything is clean and other than the error codes the tranny looks & drives fine. They took it for a two day test drive and it didn't act up once. This is an intermittent problem. I can drive it on a 4 hour drive and it won't do it once then the next day It will do it 4-5 times on an hour drive. I have read a couple of other similar posts that suggested it could be a torque converter problem? does this sound possible? It has not had it's first tranny flush yet. Maybe this will help. Could it be air bubbles in the tranny fluid?

Any suggestions on what to do next?

No other shifting issues. It only does this when I am going down a hill and let off the gas to let it coast. It is not every time thought.

Is there any way of testing to see if it is the torque converter? What is involved in replacing one? What should I expect to pay a tranny shop? Should I go with an after market one? and if so any recommendations? I tow a boat (2500lb) about 10 times a year and a 5th wheel (8000lb) 2 or 3 times a year to a cabin that's about a 4 hour drive. Other than that just local driving to work & back.

Just googled those two errors and the p0700 points to a Transmission Controller Malfunction and the p0875 is a "Trans Fluid Pressure Sens/Switch D Circ" error. A similar condition happened to the wife's 300m and it was the front pump losing prime and bleeding air intothe tranny's hydraulic system. They had to drop the trans to replace the pump. Fortunately, we had just bought the car and it was covered under the warranty. Check the TSB section as this was a known problem for the car.

Hope it's something cheaper than that. Maybe a trip to a good transmission shop would be a good move. Since there is no warranty, you might as well save on parts and labor.

if you tow id get something closer to stock tq lock up unless you get another inline trans cooler. high stalls can creat ALOT of heat when towing. tc are in the $500 range. dropping the trans is not that bad at all but a few hundred bucks at the shop might be well worth it as its ALOT easier with a lift and trans jack. if its the pump, id get it replaced asap, but im surprised the trans shop didnt pull those codes and mention towards those sensors as they are directly related to the trans
