damram, its a steel hood, non functioning. It was a reasonable price so i went with it. And thanks, i like my ride! Shes gettin close to done. And 04hemi, im not sure if the mopar CAI i went with is the cheapest around, i chose it cuz its mopar and figured it was discounted from 400 to 336 or something like that, so why not. Use the internet man, tons of reasonably priced stuff out there just gotta look.

if you don't put a $/hr value on your time
the cheapest mods that improve
acceleration, top speed and fuel economy are:

adjusting tire air pressures

sharpening the edges, increasing the gap & indexing spark plugs

adjusting the air to fuel ratio at wide open throttle using E85 fuel/gasoline mix
{only applies at full throttle}

perhaps the all-time champion 'mod'
that is free or low cost (download or borrow a paper version)
is to read the parts of
the official Field Service Manual (FSM)
that pertain to your individual truck components
and then read the technical service bulletins (TSB's) that have been issued:

Go to a muffler shop there around you for your exhaust, they are all ways cheaper than getting on line. I got the magnaflow on mine, out the door for $280, duel out the rear with tips. On line the system is over $400. As everything else you want, keep an eye on ebay, sometime you can find some good deals.

I actually found my magnaflow on ebay for 97 bucks shipped to my door. Its like a 170 dollar muffler.
