Install is very easy, getting the stock fan off is a bitch. It took me longer to figure out how to get something to hold the fan spindle (or whatever the hell you call it) so the fan would spin off than it did to get the fan off and mount the e-fan, set the t-stat and run the electric wires...
Was yours a kit or did you buy the fan, TStat, hookups all separate?

Yea, I'll have to snap a couple tomorrow. I just looked to see if I had any pics that showed it, but the closest I have are the ones I took of my cool, billet radiator cover. They do show the stock shroud, but you can't see the e-fan under it...

Hey Hammer, lets say you were going to have someone install it for you. Who would you get to do it? How much CFM is your fan, and why did you choose that amount?

i agree it looks pretty nice and cool as hell....also helps clean it up a bit. but it wouldnt work for me. whenever i do engine work the little slit helps me a lot in making a nice holding spot for my tools lol.

did you move your fan shroud up a bit or no? or is that how high it sits in the hemi. i know in mine theres about 3-4 inches of radiator exposed above the shroud which i think is stupid...but whatever.

Everything came in the box with the Black Magic 180 Extreme. The only option, that you have to purchase separately is a manual off/on switch to mount on the dash.
I'm thinking of adding it, because I can see a use for cutting the fan off when muddin' or crossing water. Although I haven't been in anything that deep with this truck since about Nov. of '05, it'd still be nice to have the feature available...

Panama Man: Don't know who I'd use. The only mod I've not done myself was the gears and LSD and I had a 4WD Performance Shop do it. I'm afraid I'm gonna chicken out on the cam install too, (but I'll be watching, so I can try the next one) and have KRC Performance do it. So I guess I'd find a good, local performance shop to install it if I couldn't do it myself...

MMStar: No, I didn't move the shroud at all...

Too many damn questions tonight, I can't keep them straight. Or maybe it's all the beer I drank today (Mon. & Tues. is my weekend)...[&:]

Here is a pic of my e-fan.......I have the lincoln fan wired up for the high speed, and also have an adjustable temp switch, and a manual switch in the cab. I have mine set so my temp is always a hair under the 1/2 way mark on the factory water temp gauge..I happened to have a fan removal tool here to I really didnt have a problem removing the stock fan, some people use chain wrenchs, strap wrenches,a piece of steel with 2 holes drilled in it then put2 bolts in which slide in the holes of the water pump pulley, and a few other ways

Yea, I'm more of a lift kit, suspension, exhausts& tune-up guy. I've torn down weekend only junkers to fix 'em, but I'm too chicken to go any farther than maybe replacing a head gasket on anything that'd take $30k+ to replace. Although, I'm usually real good after I've seen someone do it. I already cleared it with KRC to let me watch/help, so I'd try it after this install.
(I tried to get 4 Wheel Parts to let me watch them do the gears, but being a chain store, they wouldn't let me)[:@]
