if you have an older ram (or engine in general) you should run higher octane, but for a newer veh if it says 87 thats all you need.

 

One thing is that even with the best gas, the mid and hi grades have the good additives, the 87 does not...

On another note I just finished my 93 octane test with Mobile Gas and Superchips Performannce tune and found really no detectable difference in mpg's and for that matter much performance, my RAM screams either way...

Hemi's are supposed to run 89 at minimum. Has something to do with proper compression and ring seating. If you are running lower you run the risk of screwing up your rings.

 

93 with the chip either on performance or performance towing... thinking about seeing how it will drive on economy 87 though...

 

2008's are fine with the 87octane.... that is what mine recommends... I just like the better additives....

 

93 because I keep my Superchip on the Performance setting. Its only around $5 more to fill up with 93 than it is to full up with 87.

 

+1 on that... except i keep my Hypertech Max Performance on the Performance

 

I run 89 since it's recommended for the Hemi.

 

I always use midgrade, i get the best mileage with it.
