are you putting HID's in for your headlights or your fogs, do you have after market headlights already, aaand where did you buy your kit ebay/amazon? there are a lot of factors. what i would say is if it's a good kit it's going to come with everything on my kit, it came with the wires direct to the battery for my H/L headlights, and the ballasts only used one headlight plug. my foglights used both light plugs for the ballasts and didn't need to be hooked up to the battery. both of what i have are 6000k, headlights are 9007, fogs are 9006.

FYI, depending on your state, pretty much most states actually must have Projectors on the lights to prevent the spread of the beam (otherwise it's like driving with high beams on all the time) and if your pulled over and can be considered a hazard because of the glare.

i have projector headlights and would like to put some HIDs in but ive heard that the HID will burn the projector because the bulb is longer and will be too close to the projector lens. but then i thought about it and HIDs are suppose to be cooler. i want HIDs for the brightness, but i dont want to spend over $100 for them...found some kits on ebay for like $80. but i dont want it to burn my projectors and if i did go ahead and get a HID kit i dont know what bulb to get. my wiring harness is the stock 9007 plug...but the bulb in the projector is an H1

mmstar, do your headlights split the 9007 into two h1's so you have separated Hi/Lo or is it a straight shot? And yes Xenon's are cooler your more likely to burn/melt something with the fake HID bulbs than you are with real Xenons. I would also say that the $80 kits are iffy, i've seen quite a few fail, due to the ballasts.

i have those headlights...not from that seller, but the same light. it has a 9007 plug to plug into the OEM 9007 plug from the truck but then it turns into 2 H1's...1 for the lo and 1 for the high....i have regular bulbs in the high beams and silverstars in the projector. whats the worst it will do....burning wise?

provided you have enough room between the light and the lens, you shouldn't have that big of in issue. it's NOT something to be caring a fire extinguisher around for thats for sure. That being said i've seen some after markets (not on ram) that were mounted improperly melt the housing in the rear.

That being said as far as HID's are concerned, if you want them to work in those housings then you would need to but...two kits aka you would have 4 ballasts. if you want both bulbs to be HID. my recommendation would be to just do the low beams as HID and leave High Beams as Halogen. One because it's cost effective, two because having 4 ballasts would be insane! You would want the H1 kit for the appropriate kit for your headlights, NOT the 9007. Color recommendation would be 6000k their not ricer blue, and not just plain white looking. If you want I can post some picks of my kit for you. my HID's are in the stock housings still, because I'm going to mod them to have a Chrystler Crossfire's projectors. Let me know if you want picks

yes hid is about 100 times brighter than halogen

think of it a standard light bulb and a florecent tube

florecent will always be brighter
