new bulbs..HIDs or cheap xenon bulbs or...
i own a 2003 ram 1500 and i want to keep all my headlight tail light assemblies so i figured id change the bulbs. for the headlights im debabting on putting money into hids or i should just get the cheapo xenon lightbulbs that have the same look just not as bright. ive heard of alot of people haveing problems with hids in rams, if im mistaken please correct me anyone with non factory headlights please leave feedback
i got projectors....waiting to see what people have to say on this thread. i hear HIDs burn the lens of projectors. i like how they look but lack on the brightness side. id like to put HIDs in but id rather not have to replace my wires and all that **** which can get really expensive!
Split the difference and spring for a set of Silverstars. These are direct replacements (same electrical and environmental parameters) as the standard halogens that were installed at the factory so no wiring changes are necessary.
I ran some Xenon Whites for a while in my Charger and was underimpressed by the night visiblility. Installed the Silverstars and it was like daytime when I hit the high beams. The 60w bulbs outshone the 100w XW's! (Yes, I checked the alignment after replacing the bulbs) They cost about twice as much as Xenon White and standard bulbs but the results are worth it and they are a lot less expensive than HID's.
I now have them in all my vehicles. My wife's 300m Special has HID projected beams and the Silverstar high beams and fogs are a real close color match.
When my new truck arrives, it will get the same treatment.

i have silverstars!!! dont think theyre that great..better than stock but sure as hell isnt as good as an HID. however on my aftermarket headlights.....i have 2 seperate bulbs for hi and lo. i was thinking about taking th high beam wiring and running it to the projector which is meant to be the low.....id run with the high beams on all the time pretty much but it would give me the brightness im looking for. i wonder if that would work.
