Well... rust on the drive line i can under stand... can only prevent soo much rust... unless you go aluminum.. but rust on the edge of a chrome bumper can be normal along the edge where the chrome stops and the metal begins... rust can be normal on the leaf spring shackles as long as it's a surface rust... if you thinks its overly excessive.. then take it in....

The engine sounded great until about a week ago....thats when this low whining noise started. It reminds me of almost the same sound, just not quite as prominent, as when the bearing went on my water pump pulley in my car

As far as the rust on the bumper goes, I wasn't that concerned about it when it was just on the edge, but now its actually on the chrome and noticable even from about 10ft away

I am supposed to be taking it in to go for a test drive with the service manager sometime this week so we'll see how it goes

I got an '05 Ram and my break pedal just started making that same noise, drove me crazy. I went and got my can of Spray Lube and sprayed the underside of the pedal and presto NO more noise. I know what you mean as far as noises in a new vechicle. I had my Dodge built, $42,500 later, I got it and the first time I heard a noise I took it in. I had a seal missing inbetween my dash and my windshield. Took the dealership about 45 mins to fix it... As far as the under side goes. I bought some undercoating spray from Auto Zone, $14.50 a can I believe. It took me 4 cans but I sprayed ANYthing and everything under my truck that didn't have paint on it, minus the exhaust of course. I do my own maintenance and when I check underneath it all that paint I sprayed is still there so I would recommend that at a bare minimum.

Thank of it like this though. I would rather drive a rusted Dodge than a prestine Ford....

Sounds almost like the truck was sitting in water at some time before it was delivered. Check the ID plates and see when it was built. That will give you an idea of how long it sat before you bought it.

Dodge paint and body work is extreamly poor, I'm sure the rusting area's are not coverded unless thiers holes caused by the rust, the chrome on my front bumpers is rusted due to rock chips and the front suspension componants are showing a lot of surface rust, 06 2500 Ram.

But My truck is better than any Ford I have owned.

The undercoating, or lack there of, is an issue on the rear axle, that is typical. I painted mine within the first year.

Drive shaft, if steel, will rust on any car. You notice it more on the Ram because it is easy to see. I do not recomment painting that (can throw it out of balance), let it rust. It will not rip in half lol The only thing you can do there, if it really bothers you, is get a aluminum one, I have one of my SRT (came with the truck).

I would like to see pics of the bumper before making a call on that.

Break pedal, yes, simple lube issue, the dealer will do that. Mine did that early on, I ignored it and it went away.

The dash, dunno what to say.

I haven't noticed any issues with rust yet, but at approx 900 miles my wiper motor and switch had to be replaced. Wipers just quit working one day. And the sunroof had to be pulled out and the seal reinstalled because you could actually see daylight when "closed". And to this day, (1400 miles) I still can't take the truck through a car wash without sunroof lifting almost an inch off body...dealership has contacted "sunroof engineer" and he is supposed actually come to dealership to look at truck. Iam in Michigan so the guy is close.

I have heard of a few people who are having rust problems with the chrome bumpers on the newer trucks, it is being fixed under warrenty. Not sure if you have a QC but at one time dodge was using aluminum drive shafts on them, not sure if they still do or not? Drive line rust is normal. Last year I got a few cans of black rust-olium paint and painted the rear axle, leafsprings and a few parts of the frame that were getting rust, i used silverhigh temp paint on the diff cover to add a personal touch. Ive seen a good amount of people who paint there drive shafts with no problems, just use a light coat. brake pedel just needs some lube.

I had the same issue with my 05 rear bumper with rust. Dealer said they would take a look and try to buff it out, when the service manager saw it they replaced it right away with a new one. I would be crawling all over my dealer if my truck was concerning me that much.
