Default Block heater

We've recently been having temperatures below zero lately and my '04 hemi doesn't like it at all in the mornings. Yesterday morning I started it up and it ran for about 2 secounds with a whining noise and died. Second try it started up and ran normally. I was just wondering if these trucks come with engine block heaters? I didn't see one. Thanks for any help.

I don't know for sure if they come, but I know that it is an option on the "Build Your Own" at Dodge's website. DId you order one? I know on the old desiels, they had to be plugged in at night so the fuel didn't break down and become gellatin like. The "whining" I have heard on most of my daily drivers was what I believe to be some sort of choke. If youget it to start, does it usually rev up, then after a few seconds settle down into its normal idle?

I doubt you would realy need a block heater on your hemi. granted that hiccup might make you think twice. Ive started diesels in sub zero temps no problem, the fuel was slightly jelled, but it still started up. Gassers arent prone to that jelling of gas as oil burners are. so in the long run the hiccup might have only been the injectors being a bit on the cold side and not fireing properly at first.

I doubt theres anything to worry about.
