just wondering anybody got tips on removing factory stereo and installation of new kenwood

Do a search...trust me, this one has been beaten to death lol...doesn't matter what year either, 02-05 or 06-08.

There should be a screw behind the bag hook on the passenger side of the center stack. Remove that screw and the ashtray. Lower the cupholder, and work your fingers into the area right above it (careful, that plastic'll cut ya). Work that center stack loose and pull it straight toward the back window (not too hard, the HVAC controls are wired back there. You can take it completely out or just let it hang. The factory HU is held in by four screws. Take those out and pull it toward you. You can then unplug the harness and antenna cable. It it highly recommended you DISCONNECT the battery before you start this and wait two minutes for the airbag capacitors to discharge. If you accidentally set the airbags off, it will cost serious $$$. If you spend a few extra bucks for the installation faceplate, harness and antenna adapter, the job will go quickly and easily. Total time: < an hour.
