Which mod first?
Thanx everyone for your replies. Now I just need to decide on type of exhaust. I am debating on Magnaflow or Borla.
Any thoughts on this would also be greatly appreciated.

...my very first mod was a magnaflow (5x8x18, 3" si/3" so, 12259)...ran it all the way out to rear behind tire like stock minus the resonator... after a short while it began to drone, to the point where it was unbearable at 2k rpms....I then switched it out for flow 50 delta (3" si/2.5" do) and had it exit before the rear with 3.5" slash tips, it was louder, but it didn't drone. Then, cuz I was restless after a year or so (and a lot of modding) I decided to try the magnaflow again dumped (I just had it sittin in the garage when I removed it previously)... I was gonna add a resonator but the muffler guy said to drive it around a few miles to see if I still needed it...maybe the flows were too loud but the magnaflow was very quiet, almost stock like quiet even tho it's dumped...I loved it cuz i can now have decent convos in the truck now... here is what my old flow sounded like...

If you go with the exhaust make sure you address the most restrictive part... your factory "Y" PIPE!
If you had to chose just one exhaust mod that should be the first one on the list.
After that you should go with a high flow muffler... I like to use the mufflers are like women approach... "the louder they are the better they perform" but not everyone likes them loud... personally I do!
You could also just remove your stock muffler and replace it with a straight pipe, leave the resonator in place and call that your muffler... its almost free and it will add quite a bit more performance and sound without causing you to get pulled over. The resonator is like a high flow muffler... I have seen many Ram owners do this mod and where very happy with it.
I would stay on the conservative side and keep it a single 3" exhaust system from the "Y" pipe all the way back to the tail... Single in/Out muffler.
After you have the "Y" Pipe and Muffler you may want to address your headers.
After that your exhaust system should be ready for what ever mods you throw at it and you can move on to your intake.
Chose an intake that has the largest inner diameter and places the filter as far forward the passengers side wheel well as possible.
If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me.
