Default Trouble code p0303 cylinder 3 misfire

How common is this problem? 2002 4.7L with 52,000 miles . What would you try first? spark plug, coil???

How hard is it to get the coil off for someone who is not really mechanic but can do simple stuff?
Dealer jobor independent mechanic?

Is it hurting anything to drive it like this till I get it fixed?

thanks
DB

I had code P0304 in my 02 4.7L.It was a blown head gasket that caused a vacuum leak in cylinder 4.I had it replaced by the dealer. You should still be in your powertrain warranty.I would take it in and let them handle the dirty work.

had cylender 1 misfire in mine. new plugs fixed it. start with the simple stuff and work your way up. its pretty simple to change them. take off the 4.7 hat, 2, 10mm bolts on each side....theres a bolt on top of each coil....unscrew that, then unplug the coil. pull the coil out, drop a spark plug wrench into the hole, unscrew the plug. pull it out, drop a new plug and do the process in reverse.
