My transmission light has been on for a couple weeks now. I have checked the trans fluid, but that is not it. I'm trying to take care of the problem myself without having to take it to the shop. Any suggestions would be very helpful, and appreciated.

 

DO you know your error code? If not do you know how to get your error code via the ignition switching?

 

It depends on the year for the ignition switch works. Really wish people would post what year their veh is when they have a problem.
If you can't do the ignition switch trick just take it to autozone.

Have you noticed it holding at shift points longer than normal, any thumps while shifting up or down shifting. What about when you put it in gear does it take a while or make a thud.
How many miles on the truck, how long since the last filter change and flush?
