Hey you all, there has been a funny smell from the outside of my truck. Anyway, it has been shifting a little odd at times. I don't really take it that hard, but sometimes I'll floor it here and there every once in a while. The smell is the exact same smell when my clutch went out in my first car. Mine's an automatic though, but do you all think I'll be needing a re-build or new tranny in the future? I'll see if the problem persists, and if so the dealer should take care of it since I have the 8/80 extended warranty. Just wondering if any 4.7 owners had this problem before? Truck has 45k on it.

 

I have never really smelled the same smell as a burning clutch in an automatic. I have smelled the simular smell from brakes though. might wanna check those to make sure the calipers are not sticking.

 

I'll check that, but the pads were replaced like a few thousand miles ago. I would think the smell would go away by now. I'll make sure to smell right to the wheel next time then lol

 

If you were jumping on it hard, its probably just the cats burning off unburnt fuel. That would smell like sulfur.
