Default 2007 Ram Transmission Woes

Has anyone had any problems with their transmission. I saw where a few have had it to go into a neutral mode when in gear.Mine did that too. But it recently started to go into the tow/haul mode, then into the O/D off mode and then back into the normal mode. It will just start cycling through these modes by itself. Sometimes going down the road. Sometimes sitting with the transmission in park. And, of course, the dealer can't find anything wrong with it. The truck is a 2007 SLT w/ the hemi, quad cab.

Only problem I've had with mine is that it never knows what gear to be in. Your problem sounds more likely to be computer related than a problem with the transmission itself.

No Problems with my truck at all yet. It's a 2006, 2500 Quad cab 4x4 with the hemi. 15,700 miles. So far it is the best new vehicle I have ever bought. But I am glad I bought the extended warranty.

That sounds like an electrical short in the connection to the switch in the shift handle.

Hallelujah......finally found the cure. It was a wire that was shorting out on the AC bracket. Or at least that's what the mechanic said. This after being at the dealership for over 5 hours and waiting for it to do it again. I had actually cranked up the truck to leave when I noticed the engine light on. They pulled it in and it showed two codes. Fixed that problem, but now it's not shifting right. Feels like a manual being shifted. After it gets in overdrive, feels like the MDS is coming in and out. Actually feels like the truck has a miss. Anyway.......until they "see" this problem I'll have to wait to get it fixed. Seems like if it doesn't show up on "the machine" they don't have a clue and throw their hands up in the air. I told them they were gonna have to go back to a hands on approach and actually look for the problem. I just got astern look......Hmmmm???? They must not have wanted to hear that. [sm=insomnia.gif]
