need more power what should i get?
I just bought an 08maga cab 2x4 sxt 5.7 hemi, (wish I would of got the 4x4). The hemi doesnt feel like its got enough power (wish I had enough money for the cummins) to lug around its 2500 seriesframe.I wish I could get a little better MPG's around town and a whole lot more power to make me fill better about my purchase.Ibought the truck brand spankin new,I got a good deal on the truck, I only paid $20,900 pluse tax and lic.
My buddies alwaysmess with meabout my truck not being a diesel or a 4x4. They always comment " whats gonna happen when we go camping or to the sand dunes, your truck doesnt have what it takes" Boy that sure makes me fill like S**t.Whatever! I got the truck might as well make the best of it. What should I do to beef this truck up?

i have no idea. if you need to torque, consider re-gearing? i have the v6..and put 4.56 gears on the back of it. i've got tons of power now (until i hit like 50mph...then it still feels like a v6 for the most part). get some cam/shaft work done too maybe...does hell of a lot for torque. if you're looking for just sheer horsepower & speed, look into superchips, and other various chips, and hell nitrous even. but yea, i'd say re-gear and for added power...it has mathematically and mechnically obvious reasons why it increases torque.
Welcome to Dodge Forum. How much extra oomph you can add depends on how deep your pockets are. Be careful you don't jeopardize the warranty. Any internal engine work will void that puppy in a heartbeat. If the dealer does your gear change, the warranty may remain intact. Presumably, if you have a cam change the dealer could do it and retain the warranty. Many dealers don't have the experience or training for this type of modification. You mentioned camping and sand dunes. Remember, it's still only a 4x2. If you have LSD, that will help, but it'll never climb a sand hill like a 4x4 will.

600+ hp should be enough.
Seriously though, the question is how much do you like your warranty? If you mod it to actually make it fast (not just kiddieland stuff like CAI/exhaust) you are going to void it. For the price you paid for the truck it may be easier to justify not caring so much. Pop a nice cam or a blower on it, anything else is just a waste of time/money.
