I was coming up on a Ford F-150 SVT and then got on it a little bit so he decided to come and play but he either couldnt drive witha few cars around him or its not that quick. he started to dip in and out of traffic with me but very slowly. are those trucks quick at all? i dont know the specs on the svt. is that a fancy name for the lightning?

Driven correctly it will whoop a stock Hemi. Here is a comparison test against the SRT-10 Ram.

If it was a real Lightning/SVT he will smoke you with no problem, unless it is a pre-supercharger lightning. He either wasnt a good driver or was just playing around, if it was one with the supercharger. The SVT is the lightning. SVT is usually on the tailgate then the lightning badges are on the front fenders where f-150 would usually be. SVT is just the name of the group that designs the truck/cars. It isSpecial Vehicles Team(SVT); pretty much the same as dodges Street Road & Track(SRT) group.

I've found that several Lightning owners dont really drive their trucks very well....but they arent anything to blow off...
The SVT Lightning is still a pretty mean SOB if driven right, and if the owner dumps some money into modding, can become an ugly beast practically overnight.
Considering that despite the extra 100ftlbs of torque, 120hp, and almost 3 liters of engine, the SRT-10 didnt blow away the SVT, it merely edged it by minor numbers...

I ran into one with the oppertunity to play (meaning no one around and a 2 lane road). At that time I had my exhaust and visual mods done, no SC. Ran up to 100, I had him by3+ lengths, he had to be 100% stock.
The lightning is not hard to drive, they are automatics
They can also be easily modded to be one fast machine (for a truck)and get much better MPGs.

if you REALLY htink he was trying to catch you and you were winning him he was probably a fake.. just an ol 5.4l with stickers.

well it looked like a real svt...i didnt see lightning on it but on the back it had the svt badges and the body of a svt..i think a lot of them look like they have the stepside bed. he was trying to get around cars to get up to me but he wasnt a very good driver it looked to me.
