Anyone know how much work and what all needs to be done to put 6.1L cam in a 5.7L hemi, how much does it cost if I have someone do it, is it worth the hassel.

Im fairly certin its a direct bolt in... Im sure you would need some PCM tuning but for the most part I think its a "PLUG & PLAY" mod.

Need to upgrade valve springs and pushrods also. The 6.1 will work without tuning, but you will see better performance with it SCT tuned. Install isnt hard if you know what your doing, I just got done putting a comp 260 cam in my truck; its about a days worth of work if you take your time. Id say your looking at about $300 for all the parts needed(if you use the 6.1 cam), if you dont have to pull the heads then you can take $89 off of that. You will also want to upgrade your exhaust system if you already havent.

I hear there is problems adding the 6.1L cam in a MDS Hemi, so read up if you have an 06, 07, or an 08 Hemi.
