Default motor oil for 4.7

I just had the oil changed in my 2003 Dodge Ram 4.7 Magnum. they put 10w 30 Castrol. whatoil would you suggest running in 4.7 I have been told that the 4.7 you can hear the lifters when first cranked up mine does then quiets down.. I was told to use a quart of Lucas OilStablizer in my next oil change and that would fix my problem, when I first crank my truck and you would not hear the lifters no more, when first cranked..open for suggestions..

That's probably the right weight for summer... How many miles? Where do you live?

the 03 4.7 calls for 5w30, but 10w30 is fine. Most trucks that run 5w30 can run 10w30 with out any issues. We don't actually have lifters in our trucks. We are running with overhead cams. I get that same noise. It's a little louder at start up and then dies down. Never been able what makes that noise. If it goes away if you use the Lucas oil stabilizer let us know. Good luck
