I had always been lookn for a 180 degree thermostat for my 4.7 but never could find one so i went ad bought a 160 degree thermostat for a 99 dodge ram 5.9l and put it in there nd guess what, it works and fits and it runs cooler alot cooler i can feel alot more power and i still have awsome heating, thought id share wit yall just incase yall wanted the info.

 

You may start getting some CELs.

 

thats too low for my comfort, being that (if you use it) normal oil doesnt start lubricating properly until 150 F. too low for my blood. hope it works for you m8.

 

Most modern vehicles will not perform well because the engine is running too cold and the ECU will keep system in the default (cold) mode giving you poor mileage and excessive engine wear because oil never gets hot enough to burn off contaminates. If you are having overheating problems get that fixed and install the correct thermostat.

i also have the 4.7 ltr and looked forever forthe 180 thermostat as well, lol just last night i found it through jet performance and ordred it,also where i got my chip. but with a 180 stat , plus this liquid cool stuff (you add to your regular coolant) you can buy from checkers , should run alot cooler now.
