Default Programmers

Alright im thinkin about getting a programmer. But ive read alot of posts on here hearing that they are not much of a help or that they are a great mod. Is it worth the $350-400 it costs to get one. And which is probably the better of the ones out there for sale for my truck.

Thanks yall are a big help

A good tuner is a GREAT mod! Especially with a CAI & exhaust.
The best performance gains I've seen dyno numbers on to date for a Hemi is the SCT, plus it has the added bonus of having "custom tunes" which is invaluable if you are gonna go beyond the normal CAI & exhaust mods.
For a mildly modded truck the Bully Dog and Superchips do a great job. The firmer shift points alone that you get are worth the price IMO.
I'll be selling my Superchips when I change out my CAM in favor of the SCT forit's custom tunes, because at that point, my mods will have basically outgrown the "canned tunes" of the Superchips, but recent financial circumstances have me putting that project on hold for a while...

Can anyone let me know where I could find the SCT tuner and is it compatible with the '03 Ram? I know that many tuners are only compatible with the '04-up Rams. The Bully Dog Power Pup looks like a great option for me since it works on the '03 and it has good performance gains. Let me know about the SCT. Just installed my first mod today: Airaid intake tube from stock air box to TB. I can tell a definite difference. I have the K&N replacement drop-in in the airbox. I am pleased with it so far, although I may buy an open element conical filter soon to put on it.

i like my hypertech max energy. a little more power, crisper throttle response, and about 3mpg more.

everything that i have read says that the sct is a little better. it also cost about 200$ more.
