Ethanol conversion kit on a Hemi
Has anyone tried out an Ethanol conversion kit on their Hemi powered Ram?
Yes, I know I'm probably asking too many ethanol questions but I want to buy a new Hemi powered Ram and I plan to keep it for a long time. Don't want to run into a problem down the road were ethanol could be my only option. I also wouln't want to run into the problem of nobodywanting to buy it because it's not ethanol compliant.
Thanks!

In case you didnt know...ethanol is beggint squashed by the "food shortage" so i wouldnt count on that being viable in the future...personal thought: buy the truck if you like it. If gas prices are an issue for you, but something economical.
Thanks for the info. I'm not too concerned about the gas prices. I'm more concerned about how the Hemi willhandle a bio fuel if I'm forced to use it. I plan to keep my truck for a long time.
Im no expert but from what i see and hear, gas will be around a LONG time. Libs want alt fuels which i dont argue, BUT, lets work on alt fuels while sustaining our oil supply until we have something viable to work with. Were nowhere close to anything other than oil which were being choked with.
Is your screen name FLH77 a harley reference? If so mine would be FLHTPI05. ROCK ON!!

I live in Iowa. where most of that stuff comes from and I also work for a Rebar suplyer. So I typicaly know when something that big bis being bid for contruction. There are about 2 new Ethanol Plants going up every 4 months or so and that is just in about a 300 mile radius of my work.
Also, there was some Farmer / Scientist guy who wrote in a local paper that right now there is not enough corn being grown to supply all of the ethanol plants anyway. But, like I said they continue to build more plants.

FYI, guys, Ethanol made from corn is just the beginning of the process that the fuel industry started. Corn-based ethanol was the easiest way to get the production ramped up quickly, but it's not the plans for the (near) future. Cellulosic ethanol production plants are already on the way, and will allow production of more fuel to be produced, more cheaply, and using a much wider variety of raw materials (anything from switchgrass, to woodchips, all the way to municipal waste)
