as underpowered as the 4.7 is why does it sound so good with aftermarket mufflers and intakes? Is it just the way the engine was built? I have a AFE CAI on mine right now it freakin sounds awsome when I WOT. But with the way gas prices are right now I just baby it not going passed 2,000 Rpm's. I cant wait because im getting a flowmaster muffler for my b-day in july.I checked out videos on youtube and all I can say is damnnnnnnn these trucks sound bad *** with exausts! I hatethat I gotta wait two months dammit

 

Shoot. I like mine just fine with the factory exhaust! Well, this is the first v8 I've owned in more than 10 years! Maybe someday I'll change it for something a little more... something. But for now it works just fine the way it is!

And mine doesn't feel underpowered to me!

2X dreman. Never once thought of my '08 as "underpowered".

 

I have the 4.7 with a K&N free flow CAI and a 3" outlet into a Y and 2.5 out 3.5" tips...I have been told at LEAST a hundred times how great my truck sounds,and believe me, they wernt sucking up. It really is probably the best sounding exhaust I have ever heard. Of course, it does leave a pretty good rumble in the truck between 1400 and 2300 RPMS in 1st/2nd gear, but it really is amazing. And as for power, my truck is a little slower off the line against my buddy with the HEMI (and duals only) but I actually gain on him after about 50...and pulling my 23ft ski boat is no prob

 

All V-8 engines naturally sound pretty good, even when they're choked down with mufflers and other sound-deadening stuff. There are few sweeter sounds than an idling V-8. I love that burble.

my camaro sounds badass...but the lt1 is such a common sound...we all know how they sound. i f'in love that engine.

 

What's even better is when the ladies look and see where its coming from then smile? My wife's reply is what she looking at. I say same thing he was looking at when you were driving... MY TRUCK

 

i can defantely agree nemesis, lol i thought i was the only one that went on youtube to check out , " dodge ram 4.7 ltr exhaust". but ya most of sound good, some a little silent , i have a5 speed, 3 inch piping from each cat ,going too2 v-force mufflers , then 3 inch piping goes out to too 2 5 1/2 in tips side piped. im actually trying to put my exhaust video on youtube now ,cause even with my mufflers , my truck is really loud. i think i may blow them out of the water . when i drive by anywhere i show off the exhaust too much since i have a 5 speed. <<<<< lose gas mileage too much!!!
