I have a 2004 Hemi Ram. Was driving down the road and lost all power, the ETC light was flashing, looked it up in the book found out what it was. Had it towed to a friends shop, got it off the truck and it ran fine, put it on the computer and it said, throttle plate stuck shut. Ok went on my way, 2 days later it happened again. Disconnected the battery, to reset computer, worked for a mile, then it did it again, reset the computer again, didnt fix the problem, took off my CAI flapped the throttle plate a few times, put it back on ran fine.

What is the problem, and how do i fix it? is it the ETC assembly, do i need to get a new one, or is it something with the computer? Need help.

more then likely U have a throtle body issue the whole thing is replaced and the dealer will haft to recal it once installed or U will not go any where if U put it on.

 

Remove your throttle body and clean it...carbon build-upis most likely why the throttle blade is sticking.

 

When it happened i was in the throttle and it happened. So the throttle was open and it closed shut.

So you think it is the Throttle body? I just cant replace it?

 

The throttle bodies in the hemi's can get fairly dirty. I would recommend cleaning it first before trying to replace it. If the cleaning solves your problem, you saved yourself the cost of getting it replaced. If not, you're only out your time and the cleaner for the throttle body.
