Default dropped cats

well i was able to take off the bolts that connect the headers/exahust manifold to the catylytic converter. and i was also able to unbolt a clamp a little further back so i could take out my cat and have access to it.

now to begin, i got the cat seperated, however on the piping a bit further back, i got the clamp off but for the life of me i cant get the 2 pipes to seperate...can some give me some advice.

second if i gut my cat will i have a lot of smoke? right now when its coming straight off the headers it smokes like crazy! oh and it sounds BAD ***, but really its too much, too damn loud. so hopefully someone can chime in and help me with this.

alright guys....is there a seal or something where that cat bolts up to the headers/exhuast manifold? last night i bolted them back up, and you could see white smoke coming off of it, and i think thats exhast leaking from where they meet. so i unbolt it this morning and slowly turn each bolt so it doesnt get too ahead of the other....finish it up....start it...no exhaust leaking.....after about a minute or 2....a little bit of white smoke still coming off.......WHAT THE FUKC!!!!!!! am i doing somthing wrong or is this damn thing retarded!?

Not sure on the hemi, but... White smoke generally incicates it is burning something, oil, lub (WD-40), which I assumed you used. The fact it starts after two minutes makes sense, takes a minute or two for the pipes to heat up and burn the stuff off. I say take it for a 30 minute drive and see if it stops. If you have an exhaust leak up there it would be loud, sometime almost sound like a lifter ticking.

Beat me by 25 seconds.... Guess I should have made my reply shorter.

By the way, if you gutted your cats expect a check engine light soon. The code wil be realted to your o2 sensors.
