Default New Bilsteins are in!

What I have:
2004 Ram 1500 QC 4X4 short box w/5.7, 3.92, and 20" factory wheels;
mods: Trans-go shift kit, Superchips tuner, Firestone air bags for the rear suspension.

The shocks have been terrible since I took the test drive on the new truck. Finally got off my **** and installed these Bilsteins that have been on my workbench for a few weeks.

BE5-6928-H0 (front)
BE5-2550-H1 (rear)

I like them ALOT. I like vehicles to ride on the stiffer side. The stock setup was soft - but seemed out of control. The shocks were bad from the start - but with 38K on the clock - they were done. The front end dip with the brakes is much less and the jittery back end seemed to calm down a bit.

Side to side sway seems unchanged.

The shocks were pretty easy to change with the torsion bar front suspension. There's nothing in the way. Brakes look like they at about 1/3 left. Not great life, but better than my half ton GMC from 96. Those front pads would die in 30K flat.

I installed the billies in my 4x2 last week, and I agree, they are great!

As far as I'm concerned, there are two brands of shock absorbers, Rancho's & Bilstein's. Does anybody else make shocks?
I'm with you, I like a little stiffer shock. I know a lot of people think the Bilstein's are too stiff, but I don't think so. Of course, with my Rancho RS9000X's you have ten settings to dial in, I keep 'em dialed at about an 8, which is probably close to the stiffness of your Bilstein's...
