Not sure on the part #, but I've always used Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 or Wix filter in all my vehicles until just recently. I stayed with the Mobil 1 filter but caught a sale on Royal Purple when I did my Grand Cherokee Overland about two months ago. Put 10w-30 in the engine and their gear lube in both front & rear diffs and saw a solid 2-2.5 mpg increase that has remained constant. The truck was just due after a recent two week trip to Ga.so I put RP in the truck engine on Monday, will do the rear diff soon, maybe lightning will strike twice...

When you use the Royal Purple how often do you have to cahnge it. Does it fall under the same as 6000 or is it more?

I do believe you have the correct part#; I use the Mobil 1 M-301 Filter on my 5.7, it is just a little larger for greater capacity.
I've had good success with the Mobil 1 products however I do useRoyal Purple in the 9.25 differential.
You will find endless debate on the synthetics and most all of the true syntheticsare excellent for the actual capability of our trucks - Amsoil, Royal Purple and Mobil 1 are all great and mentioned most frequently on DF.
