Default What amsoil for my 4.7l?

I'm about to just get mobil 1 lol because their product lineup is much simpler to understand than amsoil but I wanted to use amsoil. So what out of the twenty some oils that they offer in the same weights do you guys use in ur trucks? I want the best, money is no object in this case.

There are three specific oils recommended for your application.

Full sythetic 0W-20:
Up to 25,000 miles or one year under normal driving and engine conditions, or 15,000 miles or one year under sever service

5W-20XL:
Racing oil, 7500 miles or 6 months, used mostly by highly modified motors for racing

Signature Series 0W-30:
Premium Engine oil 35,000 miles or one year under normal conditions or 17,500 miles or one year under sever duty. this oil surpasses all others significantly in thefour ball bearing wear test. You had mentioned interest in Mobile 1. Mobile 1 wore a wear scar more than twice as big as the Amsoil Signature Series.

There is one thing though, these extended drain intervals can really only be guaranteed when you also use an extended life filtration product from Amsoil. Other modern filters aren't built to withstand the longer drain intervals. Also it is recomended that even if you do go on with the longer drain intervals to submit a sample of your motor oil ever couple of thousand miles for oil analysis. This ensures you are not driving around on badly worn oil. There are several mail order companies that will do this for you, including Amsoil.

If you are interested in more information or ordering feel free to PM me as I am a dealer and I do give DF member discounts.

sweet thanx tommy. see i looked at the chart and it listed the three different weights buti wasn't sure what the difference was other than weight. honestly I don't care if it is extended drain i'll change this stuff every 3k. my mentality about maintence is sorta a no money object type thing. this truck is my baby what's a few extra dollars a quart of oil to keep it alive??

I see on some things on their site these donaldson performance endurance filters. i can only find links to them from a few parts of the sites. in just the general products section where you go to filtration not there but if you go to a few other spots which i forget u see the donaldson ones. I'm guessing most guys just use the regular amsoil filters?

Donaldson makes the Amsoil filters.. so you can get Donaldson or Amsoil filters and your getting the same thing. There are more applications available for the Amsoil ones.
