Default CD player

I bought a CD/cassette combo from a wrecked Caravan that had not been tested and therefore may or may not have worked (only paid $10.) the cassette player and radio functions work fine but the CD player does not. When a Cd is put in it does not spin and therefore cannot be read. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this or how to possibly fix it? My Ram came with only the CD player and I still want to listen to my "classics" on cassette.

If it is not reading or beginning to spin, then the laser is bad on the CD player. There is no real fix for this except replacing the unit. You could get a laser but you'll get charged a rediculous amount of money for one. If you still want to listen to cassetes, you might be better off buy a head unit with a aux jack and buying a tape player and hooking it through that.
