Does adding bull bars effect the use of your front tow hooks??
Does adding bull bars effect the use of your front tow hooks?? I am thinking on adding a Westin bull bar but I wont if it effects the use of my front tow hooks. I have used my front tow hooks a few times. The last was to pull my neighbors H2 out of a snowy ditch.
Most, if not all Bull Bars require you to remove the tow hooks permanently to mount them. I think one or two guys on here have "modified" their setup to retain the hooks. Maybe one will chime in...
Well my previous post on this thread got deleted with the crash today, so let type back out.
The weston E series uses the tow hooks only, the ultimate bar has 2 different mounts. One where the hooks go and one that goes under the bumber and up to the frame in an alternate position. When you order make sure you call and cinfirm, because it comes standard with the hook set up. You have to ask for the other mounts. More exoensive but can be done. I have seen it on several trucks at the dealership.

I have thought about modifying my bumper & putting a spacer of solid plate behind the tow hooks to make them stick out more to be more useful. IMO they are the best front tow hooks on the market but are almost useless stock. I have to put a clevis on the towhook so I have enough room for a strap or winch hook. They would be perfect if half of them was not inside the bumper.
