RPM Outlet?
Has anyone had any experience with RPM Outlet and their "Dyno tuned big air kits" for the 4.7L? Comes with a Jet chip, Helix or Motorvator throttle body spacer and either a K&N or S&B CAI.
Throttle body spacers are worthless...actually can decrease performance. You'd be better off taking the money you'd spend on the throttle body spacer and flushing it down the toilet, at least then you wont have an extra chunk of metal on your truck. K&N CAIs are overpriced in my opinion, you could save yourself some money at Airram's website and still get a good CAI. As far as the jet chips are concerned, the stage 1 jet chip is terrible. The stage 2, however does work, but doesn't like anything less than 89 octane gas. You'd probably be better off with an SCT programmer.
Thanks for the responses, I am new to working on the computer age vehicles. Five me an old dart, model T ect. without all of the sensors and computers and I am at home. I am thinking of just going with a CAI and upgrading the exhaust. Any recommendations? 05 4X4 QC4.7L 3.55 gears.
There are numerous threads on what CAI is best, and which exhaust is better. Check out this thread: https://dodgeforum.com/m_1069155/tm.htm Lots of people here have Flowmasters and Magnaflow, and a few with aeroturbine and other brands. I really think it comes down to how much you want to spend and what flavor of V8 rumble you want. Search youtube for dodge trucks with different muffler brands and see what setups they have, and if you like the sound, well there ya go.
