Default CAI and warranty

Has anyone gotten any hassles over the installation of a CAI when having warranty or service work done. I have a AEM Brute Force CAI and my first oil change is coming up. The first one is on the dealer.

This may be of no help, but I had the AEM Brute Force on my last truck ('03 Sierra) and it had several trips to the dealer while it was installed with no problems at all.

The only part of the warrenty that a CAI affects is the original intake. The magnuson(sp?)-moss act states that the warrenty is only voided on the parts altered.

Well, if you hydrolocked your engine with it I doubt they would cover the engine either. I do think it has to be proven that whicher part you changed was what caused the failure if something goes wrong.

Don't go to the dealer for an oil change. Your time is worth more than the "free" oil change.

How would you hydrolock the engine? Are you refering to possible water entering the intake?
