Default fog lights

Is there an easy way to have the fog lights run on both hi & lo beam?? I just bought an 08 SLT and the fog light are bright, I would love to run them on hi beam as well.

its illegal in some states, but i could care less. im not sure about an easy way. but you can bring it to the dealer and they can flash it for "export" i believe its called. then they work with the brights. mine work with the brights and id hate if they didnt

There is a trick for it but from my understanding it ONLY works on the '02-'05s. Chrysler got wind of it and made it a function of the PCM on '06+ trucks, therefore can only be "tuned on" by hooking it up to the StarScan at the dealership. Good luck talking a dealer into turning the feature on for you!!!

Here is the "fix" for it on the '02-'05s though:

Yep, if it's like my '06, the dealer can do it, although some dealers will claim they can't. All they have to do is hook up their Starscan tool to it. If I remember correctly, they go into the foglight menu, deactivate the fogs, then reactivate them for "export". It only takes a few minutes. I had togo to a few different dealerships before I found one that woulddo it for me, but they didn't evencharge me for it. I still gave the guy 20 bucks. Just be really friendly and schmooze them a bit, and they'll be more likely to try it for you.

Man , I love these groups! After buying a $49000 pick up I think I can "talk" them into the fog "export". I plan to run HIDs but I will have to deactivate the daytime running lights first, I want the HIDs to run on hi beam as well. I have a bi-xeon HID on my motorcycle and I love the hi and low HID.
Thanks for all the help, I'll keep you all posted on the results.

Hey mike, no offense but how the hell do you spend almost 50k on an slt, and is it a diesel or gasser, I'd love to see what a 50k dodge truck looks like in todays market, there's a dealership in town that's selling 08 base models for 11,999

With the current price of Diesel, for the first time ever, the local dealers are running discounts on CTD's. Listed a new CTD 2500 4x4 with a sticker of $45k for $32,995 in Sunday's paper. Damn if I could get anything near book for my truck I'd jump on it, but they are with $12k off list, they are giving like $10k under kbb on truck trades right now...
