fuel addative
Most additives are actually worthless except maybe to clean the fuel injectors. The real difference normally comes in that people pay more attention to thier driving trying to see if it worked, so they get better mpg's. It's absolutely amazing how much better your fuel economy can be by just changing your driving habits a little bit.
I use FP60 every tank full in all my vehicles...good stuff. Your fuel pump will last longer because it lubes itand cleans the whole fuel system...if you have a dirty system you'll see a increase in mpg otherwise you won't.
I watched an interesting segment on the news about this not long ago, right after the talk started about gas hitting $4 a gallon. Basically they said all these additives with claims of greatly increased mileage are ALL bogus, mainly because:
A) 98% of all research $ is spent by petroleum companies, so if a breakthrough was made, it would be made by them, and put into their gas and advertised to the hilt.
B) If, by chance, an independant did come up with something, it would be sold to the gas companies, who would spend so much on it that it would far outweigh what an independant could make with having start up business, marketing, etc. costs already...
They basically advised against any additives that claimed big mileage advantages and that basically all you needed was a good additive that cleans the fuel system every 3k or so, and possibly one with an additive for cold weather/water in northern climates during winter...

That's good common sense right there HammerZ71.
"A) 98% of all research $ is spent by petroleum companies, so if a breakthrough was made, it would be made by them, and put into their gas and advertised to the hilt."
If a fuel company could present any independantly proven additional fuel mpg increases, That gas would outsell all others 100%.
Especially these days and especially, in England.
In the UK right at the moment, for an English gallon (slightly larger than a US gallon) it costs
$10.05 a gallon !!!!!! ???????? AGHHHHHH [:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
Thats at £1 sterling= $1.9091 current exchange rate.
I'm using LPG and thankful for it.
It costs roughly $4.51 for 4.54 liters of LPG.
