Yeah, what he said.
I saw on CNN where the Geo Metro is the new hot-selling car on eBay; one woman just paid over $7K for a '98 model. While I know I picked the wrong time (Dec '08) to buy a big-*** truck, I have to accept the fact I'm stuck with it now. Lucky for me, I love the truck. I thought about getting a Metro as a 2nd car the other day (could have gotten a nice '99 model for $2.5K), I figured it would take me over 3 years for it to pay for itself by saving me gas driving back and forth to work. I'm just gonna have to suck it up and enjoy the truck! I figure it's a long-term investment now.

Was gonna make my own thread, till I saw this one.
Many will note that I've posted on a couple of threads how my Grand Cherokee got a nice 2-2.5 mpg "boost" after I changed the oil AND diffs to Royal Purple a couple of months ago.
Did the truck (engine only, rear diff is due in about 2k miles) and I've always averaged between 13.1 and 13.4 for about the last year and a half (after the headers went on) unless I was going to Ga. and was strictly on the highway. I pretty much go the same places, so over a tank or two of gas I always see almost the excact same mileage. After two full tanks since the change to Royal Purple, I'm sitting at 14.2! Now, I've always run Mobil 1 with a Mobil 1 or Wicks filter, so th increase is not due to switch from dino oil to full synthetic, this is a switch from a synthetic (and arguably a VERY GOOD synthetic, to a different one.
Nothing beats the basics for good gas mileage. Proper tune-up, proper tire inflation, etc. But I'm starting to find out that with oil (like almost everything else), you get what you pay for. Looks like the higher end (and cost) of the oil spectrum is significantly better some of the other synthetics that cost less.
A single MPG gain doesn't sound like much, but even if we take the lower end of the scale and say I'm consistently getting eight/tenths of a mpg better with this oil, we are talking an extra 20 miles on EVERY SINGLE tank of gas. Assuming someone runs a tank full of gas a week, that equates to an extra THOUSAND MILES a year!!!

Well I have posted before and have been told I am full of BS,call BS if you want, I know what comes out of my wallet, but here's where I sit with my 08 1500 MC. I run 118 miles roundtrip to work, half at 65-70mph, half at 55-60mph. I consistantly get 16.1-16.9mpg, hand calculated on premium, 91 Octane fuel, have seen 18.6mpg under steady cruising speeds across Wyoming. The only mods are powerwire, Airaid replacement filter and Mobil One. I am unsure if it's the elevation or my driving style, but I think this is excellent for a truck this size, but am going to start experimenting with Royal Purple and Redline oils. I have a little over 13Kon the truck now and am extremely happy. My .02.

Do what I'm about to do. Sell the truck fast while you still can, and get a roller skate car. I'll be using a 100 MPG scooter to get to and from work, and driving my old beater '94 nissan pickup when I need to haul stuff. It can haul 1,400 pounds in the bed, so it's just as good as my Ram. I'll miss all the room I have in the Ram, but I simply can't afford to spend $100 each week on gas. Even with 3 jobs it's hard. Anyone in the Atlanta area looking to buy a slightly used '07 regular cab?
