What a way to burst someones bubble on something they just bought. Anyways, depends on what type of offroading.. I do more backroading (farmland tractor trails) to get to hunting land.. Its really dry here in south texas so even cutting across cultivated farm lands is pretty easy with 2WD. Get some nice knobby tires and youll do ok pretty much everywhere other than mudding and sand.

Bubble Burst #2: Keep a close eye on the LSD if it is factory. It is probably the single biggest Achille's Heel these trucks have. The "C-Clips" that hold it are prone to failure, so much so in fact that it's a matter of "when" instead of "if". When it does, if left unchecked they will take the whole rear end out with it.
Change the diff fluid often and keep a close eye out for metal particles or possibly even broken clips loose in the diff. Replace with a good aftermarket LSD like an Aurburn Gear or Detroit TruTrac. They'll out-perform even a sound Chrysler LSD hands down anyway.

You can do a search for "C-Clip failure" and find a gazillion posts on it...

Not to completely **** on your cornflakes, but other than that and a relatively few other minor issues, you DO have a solid dependable truck and it should serve you well for a number of years...
