Anyone know if a 5.2L will dropin place of a stock 03 4.7L 2wd Pickup???Any info or Ideas would helpful!

dont do 5.2 DO THE 5.7liters or even better 6.1 liter motor along with transmission

 

ya, why would you go to a motor with less power? I would go with a 5.7 hemi it will be easier too

 

yea either go hemi or stay with your engine...i have the 360 in my truck i really wish i had a hemi

 

It May have less power but there aremany more performance upgrades for it than my 4.7L although now ya got me thinkin on that 5.7L . what are the pros & cons of that engine swap?

 

I bet with heads, exhaust, cams, you would be happy. Maybe even a tune to go with those 3 mods.

 

I would stick with the 4.7 also. I have found some sites that have mods for the 4.7 you just have to google them a little. If you are going to do the 5.7 swap you will need to make sure you get the AEM computer modual because if you get a computer from a truck that was wrecked along with the 5.7 IT WONT WORK!!!!! There is a lot of programming involved with the new computers that basicly make them vehical specific. I have seen lots of guys with 4.7's in there truck with just as much HP as HEMI rams and you will be spending a lot less money to mod up your old motor than to do the 5.7 and tranny swap. Just my 2 cents.

 

As much as I love the old 318, the 4.7 is actually a better engine, more power with better mileage.

 

My financial advisor "The Wife" , has officially pulled plug on the engine swap, after reading all posts. But is budgeting $1000 for performance mods. Not bad considering my last budget I spent her "bonus" chk from wrk + my own for mods to my trk and "her car"!!!

I currently havea Volant CAI, thats it Now for the suggestions ....
