Default Bad Steering Rack

I've made a trip to the dealer to have a new rack put in. The drivers side would stick then pop into place or turn very slow. Had made a trip once before complaining of a shaking a banging but they found nothing saying it was most likely a universal joint. To which I explained how I was under the truck and would have put money on a ball joint or bushing but couldn't find anything. "Something bad is under there and if I wreck I'm coming in p*ssed." Fast forward three weeks I hit a storm drain on the highway and the tail came around to meet me half way at about 75mph.
Drove it back but damn it was bad.Had it fixed and wheel bearings done again figuring if there not junk they will be. It's a 06 with 25,000 on it . Is this some thing anyone has heard of?
