hole in power steering pump?
I am new to this form and new toowning a Dodge truck! I recentlypurchased an 05 Ram 1500, but now it has a leak. The leak is power steering fluid coming from a small hole in the side of the power steering pump. Should there be such a hole? What's it for and should fluid be leaking out of it?
Thanks so much for any help!
I tried to attach a 168KB picture, but the upload said it was too large. Any help with that would also be appreciated!

You should have no hole or no leak from that pump.
Does the hole look machined or maybe a rock or something broke it? Try to resize the pic and post it up, but in my experience there should be no leak at all from the pump.

My guess there is a bad/worn seal and it's just best to replace the entire pump. Is that Right?
Since the PS pump seems to be a common problem, what is the recomended replacement? New from Dodge or a remanufactured pump? How about the A1Cardone from Autoparts Warehouse?
Also, is it suggested to replace all the hoses at this point?
Thanks,
Steve
