I bought my truck back in 2005 and have used super unleaded ever since. Because of the mpg's I get (15) and the price of gas, I am thinking of using reg unleaded from now on. However, I don't know if this will mess up my engine. Is it safe to make the change? Any input will help.

my .02 worth. if you use what the owners manual says you should be ok. however some engines like higher octane and will get enough more mpg that it will cost less, but i dont think that will happen now days.

 

yea...i think our book says to use 87, and that higher octane fuels are NOT reccomended. so, i can't see any harm occuring from putting in what you should have been putting in all along...

 

you'll be fine. the premium really just has higher octane and keeps your fuel system a little cleaner longer. ive heard that its good to use regular mostly while filling up with premium every once in awhile.

 

i ougghta do that my next fill up. put some good **** in there.
