Default replacement for factory sound in a 2007 quad cab

Hey all!

I need some advice on what I can do with my trucks sound. I have the factory CD player with 4 speakers aaand it sucks! Now, I don't want to get rid of the head unit because I'm afraid the steering wheel radio controls won't work the same. So, aside from that, I need some suggestions on the 3 dash speakers don't have 'em; I want 'em. What are some good replacements for the door speakers? I'm also looking at the Mopar 10 in., 200-watt, fitted subwoofer for some extra boom. Does the head unit have the outputs to support it? Is that a good choice for a fitted subwoofer? Crutchfield offers an MTX fitted assembly, but I'm not sure about MTX. Alright guys, thanks for your help in advanced!

Luis

Some aftermarket head units will work with the steering wheel controls. You just have to pick the right one and get the appropriate harness. Call Crutchfield and ask them if you can't figure it out on the web site. The only thing that makes me not like aftermarket head units in our trucks is the way they will look since they have an odd shaped cutout. I'm not sure if anybody makes a new bezel to fit a DIN or Double DIN radio and if so how much it costs.

I didn't even know that Mopar made a subwoofer at all. I would be a little leary of it unless you know who makes it. I would expect that if Mopar makes a subwoofer, at least some of their radios probably have outputs to support it, but I don't know if yours does. You will also need an amp to run those subs, since I doubt the head unit can run them directly. MTX has been around for years. I don't have personal experience with them, but I think they are a decent company, and I've seen plenty of people with them.

Actually, buddy, mopar has been working with kicker to design a whole aftermarker system, with a 10" mount for under your back seat, all door speakers, dash speakers, etc....look into it, if its made by kicker its a good system and if mopar helped then its guaranteed to fit!
also, i just replaced my factory head unit...the dash kit had inserts for the "weird" cutouts that made them look better, and the flip out screen looks great with our HUGE dash

Thanks for your input sos. See, that's the other reason I don't want to replace the head unit. Anything after-market will just look... off. Here's a link to the Mopar subwoofer:
http://www.mopar-accessories.com/en-...ubGroupId=3051
It comes with a 10in. Kicker and a 200watt amp. I won't need an amp for the subwoofer; it appears it's powered. But, I'm sure I'll need one for the door speakers.
