Default Drag Strip

So ran my truck down the 1/8 mile drag strip last night. Was a ton of fun. Actually went to the show/race with my friend who races his '23 Ford, but they let anyone run. I was on my way out but another guy in a '94 Ram 1500 RCSB 2WD with the 5.3 V8 stopped me and wanted to race ... so I said what the hell it's only $5. Did a pretty sweet burnout in the box before getting to the line (my stupid friend missed the picture because he was busy gawking at some stupid girls .. man was I pissed). ANYWAYS ... I got him ... ran 11.90 seconds, not sure on the speed I couldn't see that sign from the track but the other guy ran 12.30. I was surprised because I have a smaller engine and more weight. Oh well ... so how was my time compared to other stock Rams?? I might have to go back next week!!

I have a 01 Ram 1500 4wd Offroad edition with the 5.9L motor with 33" BFG Mud Terrain tires, Flowmaster dual exhaust, I'm not sure if I had the Edlebrock air hat or not when I ran and not sure if I had the MSD wires or not be either way basically stock. Anyway I ran a 11.2 at 60mph it was 60.something. I do have have 4.10 gears that were factory with the offroad model. Overall I thought my time was pretty slow but I guess it wasn't that bad afterall. I had the stock transmission and no programmer back then too.

if you can tell me all of the numbers on the timeslip, i can give you more insight...

to give you an idea...
amandas 94 ram runs 9.40s.
the laser runs 9.20s-9.30s.
the stratus runs 10.30s.
the mirada runs 7.80s.
the demon runs 8.60s...

her truck is a 94 360 2wd, full weight at the track (4451 iirc), with a TB, CAI, fans, MSD, headers, computer, and 3.91s...stock trans, engine is stock from intake to oil pan...125,000 miles. the 9.40s runs were 14.80s in the quarter mile.

Wow those are some good times on that truck ... I think I might go with a CAI soon ... see if that helps. Unfortunately on Wednesday nights they don't do timeslips so that they can just race continuously ... they just post your time on the big display. Next time I'll go on a non-cruise night day and get a slip.

interesting...

figure, you can expect your truck to be a bit slower because of the qc and i believe youre 4wd...and your truck is basically stock. the computer made a BIG difference for hers...
