Default Front wheel "clicking"

Well, as the title says, I got this sharp sounding click click clicking when driving.[sm=helpout.gif]
It speeds up when I increase and slows on decelleration.
Also, it's no worse on full lock or straight ahead.
Hmmmmmm, wonder if one of my CV joints is going out.[sm=confused06.gif]
Anyhow, I removed the drivers wheel and looked closely at the rotor.
On the outter edges around the entire circumference of the outboard rotor, there was like ,a white chalky powder stuff.[sm=dontgetit.gif]
I stripped the entire hub/caliper/pads from this wheel.
The lower edge of the anti-squeel shim on the outboard set of pads, was also bent out of shape.[sm=smiley3.gif]
I looked a little more closely at the rotor and cleaned all the white powdery stuff off it, with an abrasive wire wheel on a drill.
It took quite a bit of effort, so this stuff kinda got baked on there some!
Anyhow, I staightend the anti-squeel shim[sm=icon_beat.gif] and reassembled the whole shebang.
Took for a test drive an no more click click clicking which was INFURIATING me ha ha ha.[sm=wootwoot.gif]
What I figure is, that a stone or rock has been kicked up into the rotor and ground down onto it also bending the shim.
Anyhow, it look like I won't be spending lots of mulah on CV/driveshafts so I'm well happy.
