subwoofer placement question
Im ready to dump the stock stereo Ive decided to go with pioneer andhave found pretty much every thing I want at best buy amp, subs, deck etc..
I have no expereince with getting stereo equipment profesionaly installed but I found out the " geek squad" could install it so before I walk in and sound like an idiot does anyone know if they do custom installationswith subwoofers or has anyone used best buy to install anything?
I have an 06 quad cab and ive seen a picture of someone with subs under the rear seat from here but I lost it. I wanted to know if best buy could could do this or will I haft to trust one of these smaller unfamiliar shops with the installation?

Here ya go bud.
Remove back seats.
Cut out a section of the sound proofing on the back cab wall.
Stick a black, fabric covered piece of thin 5mm plywood or similar, to the back wall with "no more nails" or other such proprietry super bond mastic.
Screw your amp onto the board using small length screws and run all cables to it alongside the door frames, where it's easy to pull back the plastic carpet mouldings etc.
Very importantly, make sure your new amp is a "slimline" design, so when you put your seats back, they wont foul up on it.
Voilla........all done.
Hope this helps?

2x 12"Rockford Fosgate subs,in a Joe Fox boxand I can't remember the amp at the moment???
I'll check and post up later.
I have a DVD touchscreen player and a set of Kenwood components in the doors and another amp under the front drivers seat.
It all sounds good with the 2x12" even though technically, 2x10's would be better in the air space provided by the Fox Box.
But hey, I'm no techno file and I guess someone will post up about the air space thing. I just wanted a decent setup with what I had.
I think it works well!
It sounds good to me LOL.
Post up some pics of your install and if you need any help.

if i were you i would not go to best buy.. best buy is like the walmart of the audio world.. look up some local stereo shops and get quotes from 2-3 and go with the one thats the cheapest. Thats what i did. Not only is it always cheaper you have a lotbetter selection of products..
i mounted my amps under the passanger and drivers seat
EDIT: I have a 2006 quad cab and i had the 2 12's under the seats.. and it depends on what kinda sound you like to me they did not sound like i wanted and did not hit as hard as i wanted because there is so little airspace in the box that goes under the seat.. so i had them removed and i had a box builtto goin place of thesingle rear seat..
But if you are looking to keep all your seats you can look into fiber glassing to get the most air space.. or ive heard the fox box is good (ive neverused it before)
