sister totaled my 04 ram!!! need help
Hey everyone,
This is my first post but ive been reading alot on this forum. So, as you can see by my title I no longer have my 04 ram
. I was at a local dealer today looking around but i am unsure what i want to get. I had built one on the dodge site and it was a Laramie with the 7 speakers and the in dash dvd/gps ect... I was wondering what some of you thought of the Laramie edition and also what about the sound system and what not. Is it worth the money? How is the leather interior?
Thanks in advance for your input

I have the infinity system in mine along with the leather. This is my first vehicle with leather and I think it is great!! The stereo rocks pretty good for a stock system, of course it will not compare to an aftermarket one. Good luck!! Did you have a Hemi???
I have the Laramie and love it. I opted for the single disk HU. I replaced it with a Pioneer 9800Bt and Boston Acoustics speakers the difference is rediculous.
No problems with the leather at all

Personally I'd opt for a basic sound system, change it when I get it... It's going to be cheaper than paying for the infinity system, and then you're going to have much better sound quality. I'd also say, DON'T ORDER A NEW RAM! Go to a lot and find one close to what you're looking for, if you order 1, you're going to have to wait a while, and you won't get as good of discount on the price. They're really trying to move the 08 Rams off the lots right now in preperation for the 09 arrivals, so you'll get a good deal on one no doubt, if you're willing to haggle...
You don't list where you're located but check out the dealers who list on ebay. You can get a loaded quad cab 4x4 Laramie with every available option for $29k.
I don't diss the OEM audio. It's fine for stock, and it's not like I don't know any better - I was quite heavy into car audio from the late 80s onward. I was MECP certified when their program started, I went to the Installer Institute in the "old days", I owned a stereo shop for a few years in the mid 90s, etc, etc.
The leather in my 03 is still perfect, although I will gloat that you can't get the dark gray / black leather anymore [8D]

go to a local lot. find a truck you like. go online, find the DEALER invoice for that truck...as in what they paid for it. go back to dealer, offer them $200 more, if they say "no"...then go to another dealer. dealers don't make crap off new car sales...i mean, they do, but not too much...maybe to help pay your saleman, and that's about it. they move new cars to hit dealer incentives. they get things for selling a certain number of vehicles....so, the number of cars off the lot is just as important, if not more important, than the money they make off the sale. the dealers make money off their used car lots.
so yea, pay $200 over dealer invoice, and sign stuff, and drive away.

ii agree with most of that but about the ordering part. I ordered my 08 only waited 7 weeks and I got my truck which stickered at 34k for 18k, and that was without haggling that was their initial offer. but also it's a moot point. you can't order 08's anymore lol build out is over what is out there is what is out there.
plus one cool thing about ordering.. the window sticker has your name on it. says "this vehicle was built especially for Benjamin T. Dailey" i like that lol.
We love our 05 Laramie and the infinity sound system is also great. I love music and would not consider putting in an after market system. The infinity system is excellent. The leather seats and all the other extras in the Laramie are great.
so tell me if i am understanding this correctly, if you have the 7 speaker package does it also include the amp? If it does im assuming its not a very good amp. Does anyone know how i can find out the dealer invoice for trucks?
