Want Custom Gauge/ Dial Lights?
I must say I really like the stock white guages in my '08. I can't see spending money to change them. As for what you've posted, I don't like either because the first one is way to cluttered and the 2nd one looks like a Corvette dash. i don't like those Flags as that's the trade mark of the vette. A ram is no vette!
Please read everything I type below!
1. It is MORE work to install an overlay then it is to change your lighting.
2. There is NO soldering required in the gauge cluster. It uses twist lock bulbs.
3. I have changed my lighting to all blue, that's how I know.
OK, the gauge lighting is yellow inandescent bulbs underneath a blue underlay. Yellow + blue = green, we all know this. All you have to do to change the gauge lights to blue is replace the incandescent bulbs with white or blue leds. Voila blue gauge lights.
NO soldering.
You have to pull the entire cluster out to replace the overlay anyways. At that point, the bulbs are exposed on the backside and you can unplug the old ones and plug in the new ones!

The problem with doing a new overlay is that it no longer matches all of the green lighting in your switches- headlight, hvac, 4x4, etc. Some of those are plug and play swaps and some require a little soldering.
Don't forget about your overhead....
There is a great write up over on DT.

Rubberfrog can you take a picture of your gauges just so i can see how yours turned out with the all blue. I have really wanted to do this but im not sure if it would be bright enough to see the gauges.
Thanks

Too bad Dodge put so many vital components inside and/or tied to the gauge cluster. Otherwise we'd be free to cut & hack our own custom options. Sometimes there's a such thing as too much technology.
If our trucks came with black/white gauges, people would be clamoring for the "cool white face" aftermarket options!

I'd like to see some pics. I've kinda thought about changing out the lights. I have no problem with the green and white, but I decided to make some on that site, and I kinda like how they look. The only reason that option one looks bad on the first page, is because he went with gray text on gray image. Obviously, that's going to make things hard to see.
Here are some that I made.

I kinda like how they look. The gray on red makes it easier to see.
