Need some help on wheel selection
Hey everyone, I've been looking around the forums quite a bit but don't really post that much. Anyways, I am thinking about getting some new wheels and tires for my 04 1500. It currently sits on the 20" stock wheels, but I am looking at heading in more of an off-road direction. I can't decide if I want to go with polished wheels or an all black wheel (I dont really like any of the black and chrome/polished wheels out there, so its one or the other).
Also, here's a stupid question, but in order to correct the speedomoter would I have to buy some type of programmer like a superchips or bullydog, etc. or is there a way to correct it without spending $300-$400 on a programmer?
Here's a quick photoshop of some procomp wheels and tires that I really like. I would also be going with a leveling kit in the front as well.

If you have any other wheel suggestions please post them up!

The programers do a lot more than just correct the speedometer, that infact that is only a side benefit. If you have a good relationship with the dealer, he may do it for free. If not I hear the going rate about $50 for the three minutes. When I went from the 31 1/2 inchers to 33, the speedometer is off about 5% or a reading of 65 when I'm going 68. I felt that was acceptable and as a benefit, I may get an additional grand or two out of my 7/70 warranty.

Wanderer I know the programmers are do more than just account for tire sizes, but I was just curious if there is a way of doing the same thing for cheaper since I am not looking for performance (hp) gains at this time.
mmstar23 Yeah, those would be tires. I would either get those of the Nitto grapplers (or something like that... the less aggressive ones) since they seem to be somewhat similar tires. I do not plan to do heavy off roading but would love to hit the trails occassionally.

superchips sells a tirepaq which is made for recalibrationg the speedometer. its about half the price and when your ready to get the full programmer, you can buy an update for our tirepaq to convert it to the full flashpaq tuner. or give your dealer a call. talk to the right guy and you can work something out for fairly cheap as long as the tires arent too big.
