Default WIDE 33" tire clearance question

I've been looking at various options for new tire/wheel combos, and have decided that I really don't need tires that are any taller than the 33 inchers I have now, but I definately want something WIDER.

I found some nice Mickey Thompson MTZ LT375/50R18's that have a 12 inch wide footprint and a 15.4 inch section width on a 18x12 wheel.

My question is this... What kind of lift will I need to clear these at full lock? Will I be able to get away with a simple leveling kit (Tough Country 2 1/2 front/1 1/2 rear), or will I need more due to the extra width? Anything else I'll need to worry about?

I like the idea of sticking with the 33 inch tires, as I'm not interested in re-gearing to 4.56's right now.

Does anyone know some good looking 18x12 rims with a 5 on 5.5" pattern?

Just my $0.02

I have 33's that are 13" wide and I scrub only a touch at full lock. I am putting a leveling kit on, when I get back off vacation and that should solve the problem.

I have 33x12.5x17s on my Hemi. No lift, but do have M/T Classic II wheels. I have zero issues.

94rt10ohio, do you have and pics of your HEMI? I was just thinking the exact same tire and wheel set up you have, but could not find a good pic anywhere to see what the weels look like.

Thanks for the replys, guys. The info is much appreciated.

So am I to assume that I really don't need or want a wheel quite that wide with those 33-15.50R18's after all? I would have thought that a tire with a 15+ inch section width would require that kind of rim width, but I have zero experience with these kinds of wheel/rim combinations.

What would you recommend for rim size to go with those tires, and what backspacing am I going to want to have to make things fit right?

Click on the camera to the left. If it one fo the first few pics. Thumb nails are not working, keep clicking the red x, it will eventually show.

That is a pretty narrow tire. Mine are 33x11.5's on my truck and I think that they are too narrow. I am looking at dick cepek FCII's that are 36x15.5's on an 18x10 MT classic wheel.Does anyone know howmuch lift would I need to clear a tire of that size? I was thinking A 2in level kit w/3in body lift, probably mixed with some trimming.
