Are these more cosmetic or practical. I can see how they would protect the truck, but on the other hand wouldn't moisture, salt and dirt get stuck behind the liner and cause more problems?
I wondered that myself, but I put 'em on anyway. Don't have to worry about salt here in Florida (less'n I drive on the beach, and that ain't happenin'). I suspect there is enough room for water to drain away and they shouldn't gather any condensation. Sure does clean up the rear wheel wells.
One of the cheapest mods, but one of the most beneficial. The fit is tight and there are less areas for salt and crap to accumulate. Those mini liners do not protect the wheel wells. After three northeast winters,I notice no rust spots. The liners also quieted the ride. Yes, they fill the space nicely. I believe they were standard on the gen 2s.
Yeah we had em on our 2nd gen. They should have been standard on all 02-08 rams period no questions about it. I never bought them...i think they are a overpriced for two pieces of plastic(ebay:#73.29+$10 to ship), but i did not know they would quiet the ride...but i have gone 111290 miles without them, and it looks fine to me, but if i had a new truck, i might get them.
Put them on my new truck a week after I took delivery along with the molded mud guards. They do a great job keeping the crud out and off the truck. They clean off pretty easy and give anice finished touch to the rear wheel area. Worth the 90 bucks.
