Ram 1500 mega cab 4x4 Hemi
I have an '07 Mega 1500 w/ 4.10 rear that I tow a 30' Springfield TT with. I have towed it 4 times so far round trip from CT to Lake George (about 400 miles one way). TT is rated @ 6400lbs empty, so figure around 7200lbs. Our last trip we had more people and more crap, so more weight. It tows great - it's a little slow to get going, but once it does it goes fine, I can maintain 65-70mph with no real problem (although I do get some sway, not sure if it is the truck or just 7,000 lbs flopping around at 70mph). I wouldn't want to pull much more than that size trailer though - I think it would do it, but it be more painful.
Correct me if I'm wrong though, but isn't the max tow rating on a 1500 around 8500lbs? GCWR on the truck is 15,000lbs, and the truck's curb weight is around 6400...

3.73 gears in the 1500 megacab only gets you to 7300 lb towing capacity. Regardless of whether I think the Hemi can tow 10k (yes) and be fine (yes) if you get into an accident you might as well be drunk in terms of liability. My mega has the 3.73 gears, I don't tow that much or often but I'm still looking into getting 4.56s installed - the thing has no ***** on the highway.
