Crank sensor?

Crank sensor?
I have my '03 4x4 Hemi that won't start when it's cold. Not very cold, just around freezing. The battery died quickly so I blamed that and replaced it. The next week it dipped just below freezing again and was 3 hrs late for work because of it not starting.
It spit out codes P0522 which is low signal from oil pressure (OK, it didn't start yet), and P0339 which is intermittent signal from Crank position sensor.
So I plugged in the block heater while I was finding out about those codes, went back out and it started immediately.
I've never had to plug in my truck before... ever! It happened again today, and it's plugged in and I fiddled with the sensor plug to see if it was just greenies. No luck, still no start.
Do these sensors get sensitive to cold when they're old?
